End-running the Buffoon-in-Chief

In the still roiled wake of last week’s anonymous New York Times editorial, and the day before Bob Woodward’s Fear is published, this would not be a bad time to note that the country has been here before. Some quotes from the e-reader version of The Final Days, Woodward and Bernstein’s account of the disintegration of the Nixon administration in the year before his resignation.

I incline, too, to be disdainful of anonymity, but these are not normal times: The country is in the hands of a corrupt madman who is propped-up by a cult that has rendered the Congress reluctant to do its plain duty — and is in real trouble.
