The First Felon has lost it, and America is doomed. Totally doomed.
Ezra Klein affirms what I’ve been saying for years — a lot of the turmoil in the world is reaction against the steady, inevitable decline of the Abrahamic faiths. Basically, what is afoot is a reaction against modernity itself.
These are big, dramatic changes, and they’re leading Christians — particularly older, white, conservative Christians — to experience America’s changing demographics as a form of siege. In some cases, that experience is almost literal.
The political commentator Rod Dreher blogs for the American Conservative, where he offers a running catalog of moral affronts and liberal provocations. He doesn’t simply see a society that has become secular and sexualized, but a progressive regime that insists Christians accept and even participate in the degeneracy or fall afoul of nondiscrimination laws and anti-bigotry norms.
Count me unsympathetic. For starters, it simply isn’t true that Southern Baptists, for instance, can no longer be Southern Baptists; they can, and that right is rigorously protected. Second, the secularization of our public life is movement toward the ideal that undergirds both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. If these people knew anything about their own country, they’d know that — and I’m not going to be a good sport about their ignorance being made my problem.
I’ve idly wondered from time-to-time if Trumpism bespeaks the birth of an enduring and anti-social subculture in American life, something akin to contemporary, swastika-adorned skinheads.
Trumpism has all the elements of a cult; it is a movement centered on blind obedience of, and loyalty to, a single, charismatic individual who has all the answers, who is going to restore greatness and dignity even as he leads to ruin.
It all reminds me that the swastika remains a potent and omnipresent reminder of the evil of Adolf Hitler; it is all but a commonplace to learn of it being used to deface headstones in Jewish cemeteries.
So, occasionally, I wonder: Are we at the birth of another dangerous, anti-social, long-lived subculture? Will red baseball caps become … code, an ornamental shibboleth that says, “I belong”?
If not, it won’t be for lack of trying. It turns out that there are now children’s books — REPEAT, children’s books — celebrating … The Donald.
No kidding: You can now tuck-in li’l Johnny or Janey after reading them the thrilling tales Donald Builds the Wall, Donald Drains the Swamp, or Donald the Beaver Builds a Big Beautiful Wall!
Granted, Trump’s hardcore supporters aren’t, generally, well-educated or the sort to have more than a couple-dozen books in their entire home, so reading a bedtime story to the kiddies is probably not a Big Deal Activity in most of those homes. But look at an enthusiastic review of Donald Drains the Swamp:

So, I beg to strongly differ that an MEI denotes an urgent moral or American imperative. It doesn’t. And the fact that North Carolina isn’t sufficiently meeting HRC’s demands provides hope that my native state, as well as others, might yet be saved from this growing impious, irregular, irreligious, malady afflicting so many of the nation’s municipalities.
Yes, our state’s cities are below the ratings of HRC’s national average, and that’s a good thing!
Reverend Creech is not an anomaly; he is the average hereabouts. Like most people — of my generation, anyway — I grew up with the marketing lie that church-folk are somehow nicer, more honorable, kinder, et cetera, et cetera. Bullshit. There is as much subterranean malice in church as at a Klan rally.
That’s the way the Jews work, they are deceivers, they plot, they lie, they do whatever they have to do to accomplish their political agenda. This ‘impeach Trump’ effort is a Jew coup and the American people better wake up to it really fast because this thing is moving now toward a vote in the House and then a trial in the Senate. We could have a trial before Christmas.
This country could be in civil war at Christmastime. Members of the U.S. military are going to have to take a stand just like they did in the 1860s with the Civil War. They are going to have to decide: are you fighting for the North or the South? People are going to be forced, possibly by this Christmas, to take a stand because of this Jew coup in the United States.
This is a coup led by Jews to overthrow the constitutionally elected president of the United States and it’s beyond removing Donald Trump, it’s removing you and me. That’s what’s at the heart of it. You have been taken over by a Jewish cabal.
The church of Jesus Chris, you’re next. Get it through your head! They’re coming for you. There will be a purge. That’s the next thing that happens when Jews take over a country, they kill millions of Christians.
This is incandescent lunacy of the sort that inflamed Germany in the 1930s — but, now as then, a lot of people are going to believe it.
