When the Supreme Court ruled that all 50 states must license same-sex unions on the same terms as marriage, the court was implicitly declaring that Christianity and the Bible are wrong. If San Francisco can be a sanctuary city, let’s allow Rowan County, Kentucky, to be a “sanctuary county” where the biblical view of marriage continues to be honored and respected.
This is probably going to cost me some readers, but I kind of like the idea.
I mean, hell … why would I complain if Kim, Mike, Phyllis and Jethro all decide to move to the back of some hollow in Kentucky?

Up until the time of the awful shootings in Charleston, I was uneasily willing to accept that somebody might fly the Confederate battle flag as an expression of sympathy for the largely-abandoned doctrine of states rights, or an expression of (misguided) love for the so-called culture of the south. Since then, however, nobody can fail to understand that its display is neither more nor less than a defiant expression of plain-vanilla racism; that is what that terrible event redefined it as.

This issue is so simple and so clear, I don’t want to waste any more words describing it. There is really no basis for debate, except that powerful, rich men like Mike Huckabee, and your angry pastor, use events like this to manipulate and exploit not only hurting, needy people like Kim Davis, but people like you that support her and them.
Exactly so. Davis is being used, and so are the overwrought fools to whom she has become a symbol.
