Faith has always been the instrument of hate, fear, racism and greed, and always will be — but kudos to Barber for acknowledging that use today. And notice this: The sermon that most comports with Jesus’ ideals would never have been welcomed by the party that loudly claims him.

It appears that concern that Trump might be The Antichrist has abated of late, probably due to the widespread realization that he’s nothing but another theatrical loudmouth, like comfortable ol’ Pastor Bubba.

Never forget: Y’all are no damn good. And if you don’t spend your days squirming with guilt and shame, you’re even worse than that.
OK, I think Obama went too far when he said Hillary Clinton is the most qualified person to ever run for President, but this is an outstanding speech. And his dismissal of The Donald is excellent.
If Hitler invaded hell I would make at least a favourable reference to the devil in the House of Commons.

I guess I feel about Donald Trump as Churchill did about Hitler: There is no more important public business than defeating him, and if I have to make common cause with somebody I despise in order to help defeat Trump … so be it. Trump is mad and an actual existential threat to the country; Hillary is merely a venal bureaucratic hack.
