The inaptly named Values Voters Summit is underway, and so the air shudders with rancorous nonsense. These remarks from one of the speakers are a good example of how crazy the Evangelical Right is becoming as they are marginalized by their own ignorance and malice.
“My friends, our Judaeo-Christian values are under assault,” she said. She added that students in public schools are being indoctrinated with “Islamic propaganda” in their classrooms.
“You need to understand that we are at war and we are at war against the radical leftist element in our country that has declared war on us,” Gabriel declared.
The far less dramatic truth, of course, is that nobody has declared war on these nuts. They are being ignored, rather, because it is a settled, incontestable fact that their ideology is wrong.
