“Great moral event”? Mohler is doubtless alluding to tomorrow’s Supreme Court hearing about same-sex marriage, and he thinks it is a moral event only because he is trapped in childhood and defines morality as obedience to the Bible — like a good li’l boy or girl. If he had a more mature conception of morality than blind obedience in order to avoid a spanking, if he could at least comprehend that morality bears upon the actual lives of living human beings in the here and now, he would understand that the only moral issue here is his insistence upon constricting the lives of his neighbors in service to a ridiculous old myth that any bright child knows is nonsense.
