Fascism welcomes our attempts to play logical ‘gotcha’ with its inconsistencies because it knows we will lose — not because we won’t find a fallacy but because the fallacy won’t matter.

The talking-snake crowd doesn’t care that Pastor Bubba hasn’t strung together a plausible sentence in years, and they don’t care that Donald Trump hasn’t, either — because, whether we’re talking about church or a Trump rally, the reward is membership in a club united by opposition to the very people they despise.
