If you’re like most people, you haven’t any difficulty understanding that a sermon series entitled ‘Naked Jesus’ is intended to convey that the sermons will introduce you to the r-e-e-e-a-l Jesus, Jesus without affectation or pretense — that the pastor is seeking a clever way of saying “I’m going to be telling you who Jesus really was.”
But that sort of subtlety goes right over the head of some people.

“The banner was about 4 foot by 6 foot. It was blue and had “Naked Jesus” on it. It just had the dates.”
Stone thinks someone took the two words literally.
He said one man stood next to it Monday afternoon outraged and fuming.
And the moral of today’s sermon is … K.I.S.S. We’re talking about people who believe in talking snakes.
