Nobody should be surprised, for this is the very meaning and purpose and inevitable end of the bellowed exhortations to live solely to please Our Invisible Friend, and that He hates abortionists, and that men should give no thought to the ways or concerns of this life in this world. The killer doubtless imagined the chink-chink-chink of his Treasures piling-up in Heaven as he pulled the trigger — is that not what he has always been told, and by the very ‘best’ people?
Of course it is, and every one of us knows that it is.
