The home team disgraces itself

As expected, the North Carolina General Assembly yesterday passed a law stripping LGBT people of all legal protections in employment and housing, voiding all legal protections now in place, and prohibiting the state’s political subdivisions from enacting laws which provide protections.

Governor Pat McCrory signed the bill as soon as it reached his desk.

The North Carolina General Assembly on Wednesday approved a bill that would prevent local governments from passing nondiscrimination ordinances and from opening bathrooms for people to use based on the gender with which they identify.

Gov. Pat McCrory’s office released a statement late Wednesday stating that he had signed the bill.

The law in North Carolina is now, basically, this: If a bunch of Bronze Age goatherders would have stoned you for your differences — you’re not welcome here.
