You can hem, and haw, and indulge the most delicate circumlocutions — but you cannot escape the fact that the whole of Christian thought relies upon Original Sin, the claim that to be born human is to be born guilty, irremediably corrupt, inherently unfit to live. If you don’t believe that, the Christian promise of ‘salvation’ from the eternal punishment you ‘deserve’ is meaningless.
And who actually believes that? Damaged, screwed-up people — that’s who. If you want to raise healthy children, you need to make certain they stay ‘unchurched.’
