This is interesting. The Convention claims it has 46,499-churches, meaning fewer than 1-in-10 Southern Baptist churches has sent a messenger to the year’s BIG EVENT. And, since churches can actually send more than 1-messenger, according to the amount of their annual contribution to World Headquarters, and many doubtless did, the truth is probably that only 1 in 15- to 20-churches actually sent a Messenger. Intentionally or not, it’s become a club for the large churches.
Meaning, the guys running the show up there at the podium aren’t hearing a peep about how they’ve wrecked the brand name. Yay!
