Milestones in the history of stupid

Robert Jeffress is staking-out new territory.

Jeffress discussed his perceived persecution of Christians during an appearance on Fox News’ “Hannity.”

“This isn’t imaginary. It’s real. And sure, it doesn’t rise to the level of having your head chopped off by ISIS in the Middle East, but it’s all the same attitude that allows for those attacks,” Jeffress said.

“I want to remind people that, you know, the Nazis weren’t able to take the Jews to the crematoriums immediately,” Jeffress said. “The German people wouldn’t have allowed for it. Instead, the Nazis had to change public opinion. They marginalized the Jewish people, disparaged them, and make them objects of contempt.”

Jeffress is pastor of First Baptist Church–Dallas, and probably spends most of his time hanging-out with other Baptists. That might explain why he is totally unaware that it is inane, overwrought, unaware commentary like this that is causing people to give his club a wide berth.

The uncomplicated bottom line is this: As the world leaves the nonsense of such as Jeffress behind, the stress of their declining fortunes has caused their masks to slip and show the world how stupid and vicious they really are — hastening their declines. And good riddance.
