The North Carolina Senate has just voted to override Governor McCrory’s veto of a bill that permits state-paid magistrates to refuse to conduct same-sex marriages. It now becomes law.

The North Carolina House voted Thursday morning to override Governor Pat McCrory’s veto of Senate Bill 2, also known as the Religious Freedom bill.

The bill allows government workers to opt out of performing same-sex marriages.
