As you will see if you visit the Pulpit and Pen site, they are upset over there by the idea that Muslims and Christians worship the same god. Muslims — like Mormons, in fact — do worship Abraham’s god, though of course they understand that god differently. It’s a bit like the old literary dispute over whether or not Hamlet was mad; you will understand Shakespeare’s drama one way if you think that Hamlet was mad, and you’ll understand it a different way if you think he was not mad. That’s an imperfect analogy, but has the right sense of the dispute; same story, different readings.
What is important to understand is that the dispute is not susceptible of resolution by an appeal to facts. These clowns can howl and bellow and grow red-faced and stamp their feet — and probably will until the day they die — but the dispute cannot be settled because there are no facts to consult. Theology is empty nonsense.
