Right. News people get out of bed in the morning wondering, “What kind of shit would I like to make up about Donald Trump today?, because that will harm the economy and injure my country.”
Yes, I know: There are people so stupid, so inexhaustibly malicious, that they believe the media are just as pathetic and dishonest as themselves; Donald Trump is one of them. In psychology it’s called ‘projection.’ But generally … No. The media work hard to get it right, feel shame when they have something wrong, and make corrections promptly. The problem is the subject; Trump is sewage all the way down and I, for one, am grateful that the Founders had the wisdom to protect the press.
