§276   The whole of the morality of Europe is based upon the values which are useful to the herd — The sorrow of all higher and exceptional men is explained by the fact that everything which distinguishes them from others reaches their consciousness in the form of a feeling of their own smallness and egregiousness. It is the virtues of modern men which are the causes of pessimistic gloominess; the mediocre, like the herd, are not troubled much with questions or with conscience; they are cheerful. (Among the gloomy strong men, Pascal and Schopenhauer are noted examples).

The more dangerous a quality seems to the herd, the more completely it is condemned.

Lots of crime-fighting theater and little to show for it.

On Nov. 15, 2013, Detroit’s fifth police chief in as many years stood outside a public housing complex on East Jefferson Avenue where more than 150 law enforcement officers gathered for a large-scale raid. The address of the complex was called the “most problematic” in the city, and the raid, code named Operation Clean Sweep, was aimed at curtailing violence there.

With an impromptu headquarters set up in the barren lobby of the Colony Arms complex on the city’s east side, the team of SWAT officers in bulletproof vests headed inside and began busting in doors with firearms drawn. A helicopter hovered overhead. Federal agents joined police officers in the warrant sweep, a spectacle tailor-made for the 5 o’clock news.

Here’s a Holy Man who is enraged that a preacher he knows refuses to associate with preachers who support stoning gays.

You think you can reason with this kind of ignorance and malice? You can’t. The Evangelical Right has to be defeated, their ignorance and malice exposed so comprehensively that they are universally understood to belong with history’s other outcasts.

The pastor of a Richmond, Virginia church is accused of misusing the church’s funds even as it works its way through bankruptcy proceedings.

The church was put into Chapter 11 in attempt to avoid foreclosure of its Cowardin Avenue sanctuary and to potentially restructure its finances and remain in its Southside home.

Rather than preserving the church’s assets, LeClairRyan attorney Bruce Matson, who was appointed trustee of RCC’s case in January, claims in the March 31 lawsuit that Parson Sr. and others made numerous unauthorized transfers of church funds after it was already in bankruptcy.

Among the transfers was $54,226 that supposedly was being used to help the church begin to refinance its debt.

In fact, the case alleges, the pastor transferred the money to ultimately be used to buy a residential property in Akron, Ohio, for one of his relatives.

That’s what Jesus would have done, I’m sure.
