Take responsibility not just for your failings and screw-ups, but for your successes too. If God can get the credit for everything we ever did right, then why doesn’t he get any blame for anything that is wrong? It’s our fault when we fail, it’s his blessings when we succeed? Tell that to the kids and their parents in the cancer wards; and to starving, abused and neglected children everywhere.
Well said. And I’ll add one of my own pet peeves — the cosmic blessing of a successful surgery.
It was the scientists, doctors, and engineers whose thousands of hours devoted to the most exacting study, while idiot preachers were conniving at undermining their education, that developed the know-how and technology that plucked-out grammy’s gall bladder. And shame on anybody so out of touch with reality that he can’t see that.
