Uh-oh …

Dawn and I visited the Outer Banks for a few days in early June, and many of the roads around the Hatteras lighthouse are permanently wet now; they don’t need the center of a hurricane, even a Category I, passing directly overhead. We’ve gone to the Outer Banks so many times over the past 30-years that it’s grown familiar, more like a visit to the old neighborhood than a vacation trip to someplace different — but our last visit left me wondering how much longer we’d be able to go. This is bad news.
