I am feeling prescient just now:

The bottom line here is straightforward: Neither the courts nor the press are going to be bullied into submission — and beyond them, neither will tens of millions of Americans be bullied into submission.

When we consider the plain attempt of the past several days to bully the judiciary, and his months-long hostility toward the press, there isn’t any reasonable doubt that he aims to cripple the institutions which have the ability to constrain his ill-informed impetuousness.

So I’m feeling grateful just now for those journalists who have had the nerve to go toe-to-toe with the cataracts of bald lies, and the jurists who aren’t obsequious pushovers — and the Founders who anticipated a demagogue like Trump and built into the machinery the check and balances that would arrest his madness.

Seriously: We need to be investigating whether or not The Orange One is mentally stable.

But, of course, Cuomo wasn’t interviewing Blumenthal about his embellishments of his service record. And why shouldn’t John McCain discuss a raid that was on the front page of the New York Times?

Donald Trump was used by God to delay The Antichrist’s ascent to power!! It’s true!! It’s not an alternative fact!! A Holy Man says so!!

On Monday, right-wing pastor Lance Wallnau appeared on “The Jim Bakker Show” to discuss President Trump’s inauguration, hailing Trump’s election as “God’s answer” to “God’s people.”

However, he warned, “the spirit of Jezebel” is resisting Trump’s divine mission to save America and vanquish the “one-world order” and “globalist one-world movement,” a movement which Wallnau warned was paving the way for the Antichrist:

Everybody focuses on Islamic extremism. Islamic extremism is dangerous because they want a caliphate, a unified Islamic state. More dangerous than that is what’s happened in Europe and what happened in the United States as progressives began to remove religion as a foundation and replace the elite intelligence of man and science in the place of that where there is no moral backbone to making decisions, gradually assimilating us all into a one-world economy. That’s where the Antichrist comes from.

So what Trump did was, Trump was risen up as the door was closing and judgment was coming on America, and we were heading down that road where our economy would have absolutely rolled out of existence, and God put a mercy visit instead. He put a hard nosed, prophetic Cyrus who stands there at the door and said, ‘No.’

Yeah, well — ho-hum. We laugh at these pitiful hot-dogs, but there are people out there who believe all this crazy stuff. Wallnau earns his living peddling this incoherent glop. They cannot be reasoned with; they have to be defeated.

Let’s be clear: This isn’t Harry Truman threatening to sock an arts critic for panning his daughter’s singing. Donald Trump knows that his tweets affect stock price, and this is a bullying reprisal.

And by the way: Does Trump not know that Nordstron is a business, and exists to earn money? They couldn’t care less if Ivanka is a stouthearted Joan of Arc who constantly texts “Do the right thing, Daddy.” Sales are down because The Donald is an odious man, possibly mentally unstable, and the Trump brand is on its way over a cliff.
