Apologizing for America

A survey by Yale University finds that three-quarters of CEOs with international business interests have found themselves apologizing for the First Felon’s behavior.

Seventy-six percent of leaders from business, academia, and government feel that President Trump is not effectively leading U.S. national security, and 75% often find themselves apologizing to international business partners regarding the president’s diplomatic messages. This is according to a survey of attendees at the 94th CEO Summit, hosted by the Yale School of Management’s Chief Executive Leadership Institute (CELI) on December 12 and 13.

In fact, 88% say that Trump’s negotiation style has cost the nation the trust of its allies. Following the President’s recent meetings with world leaders, a majority of attendees say he was outmaneuvered by both North Korea (65%) and Russia (72%).

Quote for the day

So, another day of Hillary Clinton’s emails and the Steele dossier. This while the president of the United States is lying about the FBI, attacking the FBI, and attacking the rule of law in this country. How does that make any sense at all?

Republicans used to understand that the actions of a president matter, the words of a president matter, the rule of law matters, and the truth matters. Where are those Republicans today? At some point, someone has to stand up in the face of fear of Fox News, fear of their base, fear of mean tweets, stand up for the values of this country, and not slink away into retirement.

This is the president of the United States calling a witness, who has cooperated with his own Justice Department, a ‘rat.’ Say that again to yourself at home and remind yourself where we have ended up. Whether you’re Republican or Democrat, you have to stand on your feet, overcome your shame, and say something,

James Comey

As I’ve remarked in the past, I grew-up Republican and am shocked by the cowardliness and squalor of the contemporary Republican Party; it must be destroyed and replaced.

Quote for the day

He’s a very different man than he was five or ten years ago. He’s a very different man morally, he’s a very different man spiritually. I think the nature of his third marriage is one that Christians would be much more comfortable with.

When it came down to a binary choice between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, I’ll take Donald Trump every day and twice on Sunday. I believe Donald Trump is a more moral man than Hillary Clinton is a moral woman. I believe he’s more moral, I believe he is more of a law-abider, I believe he’s a far better person to be president of the United States than Hillary Clinton.

Richard Land

And there you have it: Evangelicals are just as amoral and delusional as you’ve always suspected.

Land, by the way, is the former head of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, and lost that job because of racist remarks. He was replaced by Russell Moore, whom a great many Southern Baptists want fired because he openly despises Donald Trump.

Feel the love-love-love, ctd

David Seaman, the half-baked conspiracy fabulist who dreamed-up the demented tale that Hillary Clinton and John Podesta were operating a child sex ring out of a Washinton-area pizzeria, is now praying that Our Invisible Friend will get even with Youtube, which closed his account, by sending a huge earthquake to California.

As Hunter Thompson once said, “When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.”
