Corrupt ideals

Bruce Gerencser’s Voices of Atheism series of posts offers a superb, less than 2-minute long prĂ©cis of Christianity.

He also publishes today a Christopher Hitchens video that long-time readers will recall watching hereabouts.

I’m with Hitchens. The story of Abraham’s near-sacrifice of Isaac is appalling, and there is something innately twisted in setting forth Abraham as an exemplar for moral behavior. Seriously: twisted, deformed, misshapen. I do not exaggerate when I refer to Christianity’s “death-wish theology,” and all it deserves from any clear-headed adult is contempt.

Dismal theology-related tweet of the day

Have a blessed day!

Quote for the day

You have to think of the Trump phenomenon as a religious cult surrounding an organized crime family.

Jamie Raskin

Exactly so. Trump fans have abandoned both reason and values for blind, unthinking adulation of a corrupt leader. “Cult” is exactly right.
