That includes those who were convicted, credibly accused and successfully sued, and those who confessed or resigned. More of them worked in Texas than in any other state.<\/p>\n<p>They left behind <SPAN style=\"BACKGROUND-COLOR: #a8f2f5\">more than 700 victims<\/span>, many of them <SPAN style=\"BACKGROUND-COLOR: #a8f2f5\">shunned by their churches, left to themselves<\/span> to rebuild their lives. Some were <SPAN style=\"BACKGROUND-COLOR: #a8f2f5\">urged to forgive their abusers<\/span> or to <SPAN style=\"BACKGROUND-COLOR: #a8f2f5\">get abortions<\/span>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Everybody who pays attention to this problem knows that the Southern Baptists, the basement-dwellers of an innately degrading religion, have been lying about, covering-up, and even enabling, sexual abuse for years.
