Mr. Reed\u2019s coalition, for instance, is putting $18 million into this cycle, up from $10 million in 2016 and $5 million in the 2014 midterms. \u201cThe only thing that matters is who comes out on Election Day,\u201d Mr. Reed said.<\/p>\n<p>The Christian nationalist turnout machine relies heavily on an extensive network of conservative pastors. The Family Research Council, for example, runs \u201cpastor briefings\u201d through its organization Watchmen on the Wall, which claimed 28,000 members in 2014.
