{"id":6857,"date":"2017-10-06T11:57:15","date_gmt":"2017-10-06T15:57:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bobfelton.com\/?p=6857"},"modified":"2017-10-06T11:59:40","modified_gmt":"2017-10-06T15:59:40","slug":"crazies-on-parade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.bobfelton.com\/?p=6857","title":{"rendered":"Crazies on parade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you&#8217;re headed to D.C. this weekend, you&#8217;ll probably want to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rightwingwatch.org\/post\/tent-city-sprouts-on-national-mall-for-holy-spirit-woodstock-and-dominionist-rally\/\" target=\"_blank\">skip the National Mall<\/a> &#8212; the Dominionists are setting-up camp there to pray for the replacement of four Supreme Court Justices, among other things.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Visitors to the National Mall in Washington, D.C., this weekend will find themselves in the midst of a tent city that is part of what organizers are calling \u201ca historic weekend of worship, prayer and evangelism.\u201d The project &#8212; known as \u201cAwaken the Dawn\u201d &#8212; will kick off on Friday evening and run all weekend, leading into Monday\u2019s Rise Up rally, the latest in a series of political prayer rallies organized by dominionist preacher Lou Engle under the banner of \u201cThe Call.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Like most Religious Right events, an overarching goal of the weekend\u2019s events is to spark a spiritual revival that will bring America \u201cback to God.\u201d Another goal of the rally\u2019s organizers is to wage spiritual warfare against Supreme Court justices who have upheld women\u2019s right to abortion. Engel has urged people to build up to the event with 30 days of prayer and fasting to prepare to \u201cshift history.\u201d Some prophets have been predicting miracles.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Praying is no more than talking to yourself, so that&#8217;s certainly better than other things they might do.
