Truthfully? Yes. The problem is that as a whole, it seems that Americans are <SPAN style=\"BACKGROUND-COLOR: #a8f2f5\">loathe to confront their demons, especially the grand daddy of them all: religious influence<\/span>. While the First Amendment grants &#8220;freedom of religion,&#8221; it also grants freedom FROM religion and the unholy marriage of the Christian right to the American body politic needs to have a divorce.<\/p>\n<p align=\"right\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thenewcivilrightsmovement.com\/brody_levesque\/welcome_to_donald_trump_s_america\" target=\"_blank\">Brody Levesque<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Levesque is 100% correct: The elephant in the room is religion &#8212; and today the resolute ignorance and malice of the Evangelical Right pose an actual existential threat to the country.
