It seems that a certain Mr. Adam Marks, of Colorado, relieved a woman of roughly $100,000 in the course of providing psychic guidance to her, and a court there has sentenced him to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.coloradoan.com\/story\/news\/2016\/06\/03\/loveland-psychic-gets-6-years-scamming-case\/85353554\/\" target=\"_blank\">6-years in prison<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Self-proclaimed Loveland psychic Adam Marks was sentenced to six years in prison Wednesday, years after a woman told investigators he had conned her out of tens of thousands of dollars.<\/p>\n<p>[ &#8230; ]<\/p>\n<p>At the time, she told investigators he had conned her out of more than $100,000, though he assured the victim that her money was safe and being stored in a cave in Estes Park.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Seriously: Why is this a crime?  After all, the pastor who operates the little white church on the corner is in the exact same business.<\/p>\n<p>He, too &#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Claims to have special cosmic knowledge inaccessible to the rest of us,<\/p>\n<li>\n<p>Which can be used to align our lives with the Mysterious Forces which rule our universe,<\/p>\n<li>And expects appropriate financial remuneration.<\/ul>\n<p>I know &#8230; &#8220;That&#8217;s just Bob, and he says things like that.&#8221;  But what&#8217;s my error?  If Mr. Marks belongs in jail, then so does Pat Robertson.<\/p>\n<p>I am 100% serious: The only reason there are laws against such as Marks is because pastors have more political influence, and are using the statute books to penalize the competition; <i>it&#8217;s exactly the same business<\/i>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well.
