{"id":12549,"date":"2020-08-17T22:12:52","date_gmt":"2020-08-18T02:12:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bobfelton.com\/?p=12549"},"modified":"2020-08-17T22:12:52","modified_gmt":"2020-08-18T02:12:52","slug":"well-said-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.bobfelton.com\/?p=12549","title":{"rendered":"Well said"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/08\/16\/opinion\/letters\/evangelicals-trump.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">letter to the <i>New York Times<\/i><\/a> asks a series of questions I&#8217;ve muttered like, approximately, 10,000 or so times.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>To the Editor:<\/p>\n<p>Just once, when a \u201chard-working Caucasian-American\u201d says her freedoms are \u201cbeing taken away\u201d or her \u201crights are being limited\u201d by liberals and progressives who urge acceptance of other people, I would love to hear the answer to a simple follow-up question. <SPAN style=\"BACKGROUND-COLOR: #a8f2f5\">What freedoms have you lost? Which rights have been limited?<\/span> Give us specifics.<\/p>\n<p>No significant gun laws were passed under President Obama, even after Sandy Hook. So what can you do or say under President Trump that you couldn\u2019t do or say under Mr. Obama? I suspect that the evangelical Trump supporters would struggle to answer. Because the real answer is, it\u2019s not about rights or freedoms. It\u2019s about who matters in America.
