{"id":12370,"date":"2020-07-06T11:43:47","date_gmt":"2020-07-06T15:43:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bobfelton.com\/?p=12370"},"modified":"2020-07-06T11:43:47","modified_gmt":"2020-07-06T15:43:47","slug":"a-church-sponsored-covid-party","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.bobfelton.com\/?p=12370","title":{"rendered":"A church-sponsored Covid party?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Apparently, there&#8217;s a church in Florida that sponsored a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rawstory.com\/2020\/07\/florida-teen-dies-after-conspiracy-theorist-mom-takes-her-to-church-covid-party-and-tries-to-treat-her-with-trump-approved-drug-report\/#.XwM9iYSyEg4.twitter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Covid party<\/a> &#8212; a get-together for the specific purpose of exposing attendees to Covid-19.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigated the teen\u2019s last two week in the medical examiner\u2019s report, which Jones said shows <SPAN style=\"BACKGROUND-COLOR: #a8f2f5\">her mother, Carole Brunton Davis, had taken her June 10 to a church-sponsored event to intentionally expose her immunocompromised daughter<\/span>, who had survived cancer at 2, to the potentially deadly coronavirus.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Does the First Amendment&#8217;s guarantee of freedom of religion protect the mother?  I don&#8217;t know &#8212; but I&#8217;m hoping some enterprising prosecutor turns the next few years of her life into hell and figures-out a way to close that church.<\/p>\n<p>The pandemic has taught me two things:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>There are a lot more idiots in America than I thought.
