{"id":1213,"date":"2015-06-03T10:15:40","date_gmt":"2015-06-03T14:15:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bobfelton.com\/?p=1213"},"modified":"2015-06-03T10:15:40","modified_gmt":"2015-06-03T14:15:40","slug":"another-transfusion-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.bobfelton.com\/?p=1213","title":{"rendered":"Another transfusion case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The parents of an Australian boy who desperately needs a liver transplant are <a href=\"http:\/\/m.couriermail.com.au\/news\/queensland\/jehovahs-witness-parents-refuse-consent-for-sons-life-saving-blood-transfusion\/story-fnn8dlfs-1227376179006\" target=\"_blank\">refusing permission<\/a> for necessary blood transfusions during the surgery.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>A HOSPITAL has taken the extraordinary step of asking a court to allow a boy to be given a blood transfusion during a liver transplant, after his Jehovah\u2019s Witness parents refused consent.<\/p>\n<p>The boy, \u201cJ,&#8221; aged seven, has been on the liver-transplant list for a year and his parents want him to have the operation, but say giving him blood is against their religious beliefs.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Because that&#8217;s how they read the Bible, and the Bible is Inerrant, <i>et cetera<\/i>, <i>et cetera<\/i>, <i>et cetera<\/i>.  How the court will rule is anybody&#8217;s guess.
