But <SPAN style=\"BACKGROUND-COLOR: #a8f2f5\">their big picture perception of today\u2019s political reality is basically grounded in fact<\/span>. While Republicans\u2019 picture is a false one self-servingly painted by a monstrous liar, Trump. I say this as <SPAN style=\"BACKGROUND-COLOR: #a8f2f5\">a Republican myself, for half a century, until I saw the party plunge down that rabbit hole<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The other night I attended a dinner, with a couple of Trumper friends (I do have some). They are not (otherwise) stupid or crazy; one has a Masters in History. One mentioned \u201cShifty Schiff\u201d unmasked as a sex criminal. They avowed lack of surprise, wondering only how such a scumbag got away with it so long.<\/p>\n<p align=\"right\"><a href=\"https:\/\/rationaloptimist.wordpress.com\/2019\/12\/19\/americas-reality-problem\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Frank Robinson<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I know people just like Robinson&#8217;s friends.
