Can this be true?

Daily Kos claims that Sarah Palin’s book tour travel is on a Beechcraft owned by Samaritan’s Purse, the relief organization founded by Billy Graham’s son, Franklin.

Samaritan’s Purse is flying Sarah around in one of its aircraft. She lands near her next book rally, gets on the bus, and rides into town on the bus.

Palin is flying around in a Beechcraft/King Air 300tail number N262SP (multi-engine, 11 passengers).

I wouldn’t accept anything said by Sarah Palin without independent verification, but the Graham’s have a very clean reputation. Graham Sr., well aware of the (deservedly) poor reputation of many prominent evangelists for ostentatious living, makes a point of inviting journalists to his home regularly to look around.

What is more, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association is one of the rare ministries that doesn’t hide behind the IRS exclusion for religious non-profits; you can take a look at their IRS 990-form, and a current financial statement, here.

Whatever is going on, I’d bet on the Grahams taking pains to make certain it’s done in a proper way.
