ACLU files religious liberties suit in Tennessee

Alleging a pervasive pattern of religiosity that includes lectures and Bible distribution by the Gideons, teaching of Creationism and Intelligent Design, teaching that America is a ‘Christian nation,’ a cross that hangs in a classroom, and teacher-sponsored prayer, the Tennessee ACLU has filed suit against the Cheathem County school system.

The facts will come out at trial; on first impression, though, there is nothing in the complaint that is unbelievable and, if accurate, the unconstitutionality of the school board’s conduct is indisputable.
