It’s just one more reason, then, why clerics ought to come clean about the Bible and admit from the pulpit what every one of them learns in any half-decent seminary, that Genesis is just a grab-bag of old pagan tales — not journalism. Really, now: Do they want to see American kids raised incompetent to do anything but sweep floors in order to protect what they know perfectly well is nonsense?
