Since 1900, only 3 governors have resigned in their first term: Jim McGreevy, Eliot Spitzer, and Sarah Palin.
McGreevy resigned because it was about to be revealed he was caught up in a homosexual affair, and Spitzer frequented expensive hookers. I incline to the view that Palin wants to make some easy money on the celebrity freak circuit, but it’s not necessarily malicious to wonder if there’s something ugly about to break.
