We’re all bound to agree that it’s disrespectful but, then, so is summarily executing enemy combatants from a hidden distance, and planting IEDs where any unlucky passerby might be blown to bits.
I wonder sometimes: What the hell do the American people think goes on in a war, anyhow? Are we, corporately, so naive as to imagine that these vigorous young men can be trained to a razor’s edge, handed lethal weapons … and expected to bring home the Lady Byng Trophy?
They are sent there for the single purpose of killing the enemy, as swiftly and cheaply as possible, and the only thing to irritate that I see in the video is that they were wasting time on a juvenile ceremonial instead of hustling to the next killing zone.
